Radio 2 presents an exclusive Friday night concert featuring the operatic supergroup Il Divo accompanied by the BBC Concert Orchestra.
The concert will be recorded at LSO St Luke’s in London on Tuesday 11 November and will be broadcast on BBC Radio 2 on Friday 12 December.
Il Divo will perform tracks from a career which began four years ago when pop impressario Simon Cowell brought the group together following worldwide auditions. Since then they have released three albums, scored 36 number one hits across the globe and performed to over 1.5 million people on their sold out world tours. Just saw the guys on Oprah from here in Atlanta, Georgia and they were stunning! Oprah said she saw their video YESTERDAY and had her people track them down - "whereverer they are in the world" and get them to Chicago! She also mentioned the album release on the 18th (USA).
David confirmed they had literally just put their bags on the conveyor belt to leave Mexico when the call came YESTERDAY, and of course they said yes!
Sorry, I could not record it - hopefully someone else did...but here's my take...
The performance featured maybe a 20 piece orchestra - was not acappella and edited shorter for this appearance. It was exquisite and gave me goosebumps! My little girl had just got off the bus so we watched together, hugging. It was such a nice Mommy/daughter moment as we got to hear them so beautifully. The camera cut to Oprah toward the end and she was all smiles. A lone bagpiper appeared on a lift at the rear of the stage as on the Pula recording and their four voice ending was strong and uplifting (not Seb's quiet version) to thunderous applause. I was so proud of them! Can those guys sing or what!
Oprah chatted briefly saying she had seen the vid from Rome's Colisieum and Seb said it was Croatia and mentioned Hallelujah being recorded as well. They looked stunning as usual and sounded so incredible. When does that tour begin? Oh yeah, where is my CD????
Oprah, thanks for inviting them. Carlos, David, Seb and Urs...thanks for saying yes and changing your plans to rejoin family in Europe (David to Rome, he said). It was a delight and a surprise. We have SO missed you and your AMAZING talents. Rest these next few days and Best WIshes for the launch in Spain.

Escribo este mensaje con el corazón empapado en las dulces lágrimas del recuerdo soñado.
Caía la noche en la ciudad cuando cuatro hermosas estrellas aparecieron en escena. Pronto se escucharon gritos y exclamaciones de parte de las muchísimas fieles que, tras 10 horas (o tal vez más) de amistosa espera, veían por fin aproximarse esa estrella que por tantos años habían contemplado solo a través de una ventana en la jaula de la rutina.
Dio la hora de moverse y, guiadas por espectros de ceniza, caminamos hacia el final de nuestro arco iris… y ante nuestros ojos, el tesoro nos sonreía. Era un tesoro mágico y todas caímos en el hechizo de sus miradas. ¿Nos miraban a nosotras? No lo sé, temo que para entonces había perdido toda noción del mundo circundante.
Pronto llegó mi turno… sólo una mesa de distancia me separaba de los ángeles más hermosos que mis ojos de mortal hayan visto jamás. El primero en percatarse de mi presencia fue la deidad ibérica, quien estaba al frente de su comitiva. Con la poca razón que me quedaba, le entregué el material a firmar; escuché un saludo amable de la voz barítona y llegué al cielo. Escuché también la dulce voz de los ojos que me habían cautivado y cuando me di cuenta, ya había recorrido todo el paraíso. Solo pude decir gracias… teniendo tanto que decir, la razón en ese momento no me dio para más; tan solo resumir mi gratitud por su música y mi admiración por su persona en tres formas de una misma palabra…. Era tarde para decir algo más… De repente y de la nada, los espectros desalmados y crueles me expulsaron del paraíso terrenal en donde me había perdido.
Fue hasta pasados diez minutos que comprendí lo que en realidad había sucedido: Carlos Marín, Urs Bühler, Sébastien Izambard y David Miller (unidos en un solo corazón llamado IL DIVO) habían firmando cariñosamente el divoposter que pronto adornará mi pared. Ahora me encontraba fuera del MixUp de Plaza Loreto en medio de una multitud que, al igual que yo, veían realizado un sueño más o un peldaño más avanzado en la escalera de sus ilusiones.
Y finalmente mi alma se fundió en lágrimas ante la nueva realidad… todo había terminado y no los volvería a ver pronto, Y peor aún, todo había pasado sin más evidencia del encuentro divino que la frágil memoria del sueño realizado.
Quiero dar las gracias a toda la gente maravillosa que hizo de este día, uno de los más especiales de mi vida. Fue un placer conocer y convivir con tantas divas connacionales… ¡¡orgullosamente mexicanas!! Y fue un honor estar en presencia de esos ángeles divinos que marcaron mi ser para siempre.
Les deseo un buen camino y todo el éxito del mundo a los cuatro.

Hello ladies!
Here my story about that wonderful and marvelous day to me, I arrived to Plaza Loreto at 11:30 pm of Oct/21 to see if someone will be there thru the night, but it seems that no one was there, so, I went back home to sleep.
On Oct/22 my brother's chofer was for me at 5:00 am, in 15 minutes I was in Plaza Loreto and people was there, the same people I remember saw on the night of Oct/21, I was the #9 in the line. It was so tired be there for 13 hours until the guys arrived there, I was in the cd shop when they arrived at the Plaza. Then I could see Urs face with his tipical winkle winkle, wow! my heart beated fast, that was magic, then I could see David face talking with some of the guys, after that Carlos appeare, all look gorgeous, my legs and my body was in shot hahaha! Seb was missing, when I see him I couldn't took off my eyes from him. The press took videos and pictures of the guys and I was dying to see them, then the line start to run, when was my turn, the girl couldn't cut my ticket, so, the guys were waiting for me, I could see them all together in front of me. The first one was Carlos, lovely man, great voice I took his hand, then Urs, very handsome and cute, I took his hand too, but when I was in front of Seb, I could not say anything, I even could not think, so, he smiled me and I say: "esto es para ti" (my mind was crazy I spoke spanish) so, I told him "this is for you, it is a chez for your home" (my gift was a chez in form of pyramid very mexican), he smiles and said "thank you", he read what I wrote on it and turn his face to David and said "it is for me, ah?", (some girls told me that David likes these kind of traditional mexican things), David only smiles to Seb and took the chez and leave it behind the chairs, David only smiled to me, the person was ready with my signed poster and gave the hand to take out, so, I never was in front of David, that's a shame. But I will keep on my heart Seb's pretty face smiling me, that was a great moment in my life, then I was way home, when I saw the vams and I decided to wait for the guys, I really wanted a picture of them, so, I wait for 1 hour and a half more, when the guys out of the building, I decided in that minute took video because I did not want to loose any minute of that moment. After I saw the guys leaved the place, I took a minute to sit on the corner of one garden and cried, I thank God for that oportunity and I did not know if be happy in that moment was correct, because I was in that city because I was with my mom at the hospital since 3 days before that day, if she wasn't there, probably I never would be there to see the guys. Here is my video, I included pictures of my Seb's gift, my signed poster and the promotion cd of The power of love, I have to say that it is not very clear, because the night began at the moment when the guys went out. I meet a lot of girls, fans and clubs of this marvelous band, all very friendly and kindly, thanks to all for enjoy that day in your company. Have a nice day!!! Kisses and hugs... J- If you want... but... no no ... he said the spanish is a perfect language to sing opera; the perfect combination, the english works for the POP... but not too much for the opera; Latinoamerica is very important for you so that's why you decided singing in this language...and you; Carlos; you won't let me lie that the spanish is marvellous!
C- Totally! Actually...I think since we start with IL DIVO, we always have chosen the spanish because I think it sounds more sexy!

J- Simon Cowell... I would like to speak about him... I really admire him; not for his character in Americal Idol that is really funny but his vision....this vision for the musical industry! Are you still in contact with him? He was the creator of IL DIVO...right?
C- Yes... he was more involved at the beginning because we always had meetings but with the time... he always said "Trust me" and now we say... HAHAHA! "Trust us" HAHAHA! the truth is he's very cool! Although he has that "fame" ; a man that always says what he thinks.. and sometimes a tough man; he always has been a good person with us!
J- Of course; after all the money that you make...HAHAHA!! Help me Carlos...This title... "The promise" refers to that promise that you made; returning to the scenaries...after this year on vacations! There was a rumor that you broke up.... is that true?

Hi everyone!
Well we're in Mexico at the moment, doing lots of promotion. Today we had a signing which was really busy, we got to meet lots of fans, so that was great. We've done a few TV shows, including a big talent show called Sangre de mi Sangre, which is a bit like American Idol but the prize isn't a record contract, it's the chance to have your dream come true. We were judging them, telling them what we thought of the performances, that kind of thing. We also performed on the show as well. Yesterday we visited a children's hospital to support all the good work that they do, which was just amazing. It was so great to see all the people there working for the kids and some of the equipment they have is really interesting, like a machine to help kids walk - they get into the machine and move their legs in the same way as if they were walking, it's unbelievable. We haven't had chance to do much sightseeing recently as we've been finishing around 8 or 9 in the evening, but we had a little free time in New York and I went out with some friends for dinner at night, which was so much fun. Soon we'll be off to Spain to do some more promotion and for the official launch. We really can't wait, it should be an amazing event. We'll be singing with a 60-piece orchestra, performing five songs. I'll also have two days free in Barcelona so I'll just be relaxing, maybe go to the beach, although not swimming as it's a little cold for that already! Hoy hemos tenido una firma que fue realmente concurrida, tuvimos que cumplir con muchos fans, y fue genial. No hemos tenido mucha oportunidad de hacer turismo en nuestras visitas recientes, ya que hemos terminado de los compromisos diarios entre 8 y 9 de la noche, pero tuvimos un poco de tiempo libre en Nueva York y sali con unos amigos a cenar, y fue muy divertido. Pronto estaremos en España para hacer más promoción y el lanzamiento oficial. Realmente estamos ansiosos sabemos que sera algo increíble. Vamos a estar cantando acompañados de una orquesta de 60 musicos, tenemos programados cantar cinco canciones. Moving to London for his love
The world wide famous classic-pop group has a long break in the past year. The Swiss Urs, used it to settle in London with his girlfriend.
Without a smoking goes nothing for Urs Bühler (37), when he is in the spotlights. Those outfits belongs to his work-outfit since he join Il Divo five years ago. But for this interview he is dressed in jeans and a long-sleeved T-shirt. He and the other three guys are on the road again. The break is over and they have to bring on their newest Album “The Promise” at November 7th. The new tour is already planned. For Urs had the break can be much longer. We didn’t have much spare time the last five years, he explains. We had to work constantly since the begin. Al guys were glad they had a break after july last year when they finish the last world tour. He used this break to move and settle in London with his English girlfriend. (She is visagiste and a little bit older than me) They bought a house in London and started decorating. We made it our home and are very happy with each other. That’s why I wouldn’t care when this break was longer. I have a lot to do in the garden. There is always enough to do when you have a house. Times goes fast.
Would you go back to Switzerland? He laughs and said: I love Switzerland and specially the Luzerner Hinterland, the part I came from. But I don’t know if I could live here forever. I feel a lot more free where I live now. At this time I have home and the right woman at my site.
Looks it like there is a baby on his way? He came from a big family with four sisters and brothers and he has 35 cousins. Off course I want a family and kids but now its not the right time. Well because I have such a busy schedule, planned full till October 2009, I’ll take one day for another and will see what it brings.
Next to the photo off Urs: In earlier days he would like to be a music teacher. But then he started his training in Amsterdam and succeed there. Then he joined Il Divo
Photo above the group: Urs Buhler with his colleague David from the USA, Carlos from Spain and Sebastien from France. They sold already more than two million albums and the new one “The Promise ”will reach the top off the rank list for sure.
